Snapshot: Friday 11th March 2016. Belfast Fashion Week!

This ones a little late. Better late than never though, right?!

On Friday 11th March I went to Belfast Fashion Week to see the high street show. I was so unsure of what to wear as I was going shopping for a little while first so I needed something that I could wear during the day and still look like I made an effort that night!

I ended up deciding on glam makeup, a rust coloured a-line skirt with zip detail up the front, high necked black top and cream fur gilet paired with my heeled over the knee boots.. A real 70's vibe!

My makeup was my favourite glam with a brown smokey eye and shimmer on the lid, contour and highlighted to the gods, lashes and Androgyny from Jeffree Star on my lips because it looks so good with shades from the Morphe 35T palette!

I wore my usual and favourite Milk + Blush extensions and curled them with a wand. So quick and easy to do!

We firstly went to a few shops and for a coffee beforehand as we had some time to kill. I was surprisingly good with my money and only repurchased a face mask from Lush.. I know, what was wrong?! To be honest we didn't go to many make up stores and I think thats the reason for my unusual restraint lol!

We went to the venue then and were greeted at the door to a West Coast Cooler NI backdrop to get photos taken with gorgeous fairy lights and #WCCNI in light up letters. This was followed by a place to pick up your own glass of West Coast Cooler. When you followed on into the hall you were brought into an area before the show which had stalls of the vendors and brands involved in fashion week showing you products and offering discounts and opportunities they had!

Here we waited to be shown to our seats for the show. We were seated at the top of the runway with a clear view of the models and the visual of which brand was on the runway!

The show was great and included some amazing looks from high street brands such as Miss Selfridge, Topshop, Warehouse, Remus Uomo and so many more!

As we entered we got a goody bag waiting for us on our seats, mine included lots of goodies as shown below!

There was also crisps and a bottle of water but they are very clearly gone, they didn't last the journey home!

It was a really great night and I'll definitely be returning in October, hopefully for a few more shows next time! I'm going to post the links to the fashion show's own social media so you can get a real good look at the models and clothing!

Did any of you check out any fashion week shows this time around? What trends are your favourite for SS16?

Valentines Day Makeup Look!

This is the look I rocked last night (Saturday) for my valentines weekend night out.. With the girls!! I'm not one to get into Valentines so I just rocked glam make up with a red lip. To be honest, this is one of my favourite looks ever! I'll list what products I used and a few steps below. I'll include links to the products too.

Firstly, I primed my face with my Nivea Mens Post Shave Balm. This is like a make up glue and I'm sure you've seen everyone on youtube using it lately! It's perfect for a night out with the girls as my makeup doesn't move all night even after all my dancing! I colour corrected my face with the blush colour from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette in Medium to help cover my dark circles and darker skin around my chin/jaw area. For foundation I used my trusty Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation Stick. I like a full coverage and this is perfect for that look. For contour I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit in Medium. I used the shade cinnamon on my contour areas, as I've hit pan on my highlight colour I used Mac Pro Longwear Concealer as my highlight. This also added extra coverage and brightened up my face. I used my Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer in Light under my eyes and baked straight away so it didn't have time to crease. To bake I used my Maybelline Loose Powder. I added some powder to set the rest of my face lightly with a brush. I then added Mac Blush in Harmony as my powder contour colour to set it. It's a perfect cool toned brown for contour. To highlight my face I used Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft 'n' Gentle. This gives me a great golden glow which is perfect when I'm wearing tan and keeps me highlighted to the gods!!! I love it but I really need to get my hands on a Becca highligher.. Why don't I have one?!

I moved onto my eyebrows then. I used my favourite Illamasqua Brow Gel in Stare and an angled brush to apply it. On my eyes I applied a plain nude shadow as a base from my Urban Decay x Pulp Fiction Palette which was limited edition. I then added a brown shade from my Gwen Stefani x Urban Decay eyeshadow palette. I used Stare in the crease and slightly higher then Anaheim in my crease. On my lid I placed NYX Glam Liner Aqua Luxe in Glam Nude all over my lid. This eyeliner is amazing and really made my eyes pop! I'll be purchasing more of these for sure! I then added my trusty Dolly Wink Eyeliner for a beautiful flick. I placed a small amount of the nyx eyeliner under my eye and applied Benefit They're Real Mascara to my top and bottom lashes. I then applied 2 pairs of eyelashes as I love a dramatic lash! The ones I applied were ones from a 10pc pack I got on eBay and a pair from my local chemist, nothing too exciting!

On my lips I scrubbed them, added balm and then my Mac Lipstick in Diva. It's a perfect blue toned red for my skin tone and I'm in love.

So that was my look! I spent my V Day weekend with my friends then today I wrote this and chilled out. How was all your Valentine's weekends? Hope everyone had a great time - with or without boyfriend/girlfriend!

Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner

Say hello to your new black liquid eyeliner obsession!

I seen these eyeliners everywhere online. Anyone who had an interest in Korean/Japanese makeup has posted multiple times about these! The packaging is so cute and they caught my eye.

I remember Marzia Bisognin using this in a YouTube tutorial and her eyeliner looked flawless, I needed this product but couldn't find it readily available here in the UK. Then I very recently saw Fleur De Force talk about this eyeliner after she picked it up in Japan and her eyeliner also looked amazing. I knew then and there I needed this eyeliner. I searched the internet for this product and came across it on eBay! It was a great price (£7.99 incl. delivery, super affordable!) and its so cute! I couldn't resist it!

When this eyeliner arrived I was so surprised!! It's amazing. The tip is ultra thin at the top, perfect for my sharp cat eye that I love. The brush itself if very soft so you can vary the pressure to get extremely thin lines to thick lines to fill in your desired shape - so versatile! The packaging it very 'kawaii' and helped to sell the product to me. I'm a sucker for packaging!

This eyeliner is produced by Japanese model Tsubasa Masuwaka. She released the whole Dolly Wink range which includes eyelashes, glue and nail polishes to name a few products! Check them out also!

I'm such a fan of this and definitely 100% recommend this to everyone! Here's a picture of my make up from the weekend when I used my eyeliner for the first time:

That cat eye - yaaaaas! Here's a closer picture for you to see what this eyeliner looks like up close, this photo was taken a few hours after I applied the eyeliner. The staying power was great especially as my eczema on my eyelids is so bad at the minute and I have an oil based moisturiser and ointment under my makeup! (This is also the reason for the SLIGHT bleeding out of the line on top of my tight line but I am unbelievably impressed)

As you can probably tell I love this product and I will be repurchasing a back up of this pretty soon. This is my new favourite eyeliner!

Have any of you tried this eyeliner and what do you think? If not, would you purchase it in the future? Let me know!

Good Girl Vibes - Ariana Grande x Mac Viva Glam Inspired Look 2

I posted my Bad Girl Vibes post inspired by the other half of this Ariana Grande x Mac Viva Glam collection yesterday. I really love that look and I want to rock it again soon!

Today, I decided to let my good girl out and do a Good Girl Vibes inspired look using the Lipglass from the collection. It's a gorgeous pinky/clear lipgloss with glitter through it. It photographs well and leaves me lips looking plump and so luscious, which is a great change in this colder weather!

To inspire this look I looked at Ariana's usual every day make up and it consists mostly of flawless skin, a nude coloured lid, a great cat eye, big lashes and a beautiful lip! So I used my usual base with a subtle metallic pink eye, a cat eye and the lipgloss!

To recreate this look if you are interested just follow these steps:

Step 1: Moisturise and prime your face. For a flawless finish and longevity this step is so important!

Step 2: For my base I applied a generous amount of Kryolan TV Paint stick and blended this in using a damp beauty blender (I have real techniques version). I then contoured my face using my Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit. Using the two lightest contour shades mixed under my cheekbones, around my forehead, under my chin and at the end of the bridge of my nose. I blended this using my Real Techniques Face Expert brush.
I then added concealer under my eyes and where I want to highlight. (forehead, cheekbones, bridge of my nose, cupids bow and just a small amount on my chin.)

Step 3: To set this I used loose powder under my eye and left it on to 'bake'. (Check youtube tutorials if unsure) I then powered my face where I get oily during the day and used Mac Blush in Harmony to contour.

Step 4: For my eyes I applied a transition colour in my crease. I used Stark from the Gwen Stefani x Urban Decay Eyeshadow Palette. On my lid and slightly above I used Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow in Pink Gold and set it with Harajuku from the Gwen x UD Palette. I then went over the lid with Pop from the same palette to add a slight bit of glitter.

Step 5: I used a fluffy brush to wipe away the excess powder and fallout under my eye.

Step 6: I went in with Anaheim from the Gwen x UD Palette at my waterline and Blonde from that Palette on the inside of my eye with a small amount of Pop on top.

Step 4: I added a large winged liner (Wet n' Wild Liquid Liner) like Ariana usually has and a coat of mascara (Maybelline Lash Sensational) and false lashes. I used Primark lashes in Sultry.

Step 5: I added to my cheek contour with Lo-Fi From the Gwen Stefani x Urban Decay Blush palette that I bought today (Post on that coming soon!), added a pop of colour to my cheeks by using the easy shade for blush and angel for highlight where I had placed my concealer! This palette has everything you could need - so gorgeous!

Step 6: To finish the look I applied a small amount of Mac Soar Lip Pencil to my lips and coated them with the Ariana Grande x Mac Viva Glam Lipglass!

This look is super easy to wear and the eyes could be toned down to a nice cool brown tone to wear something similar to what Ariana probably would!

If you wanna treat yo' self to this lipstick the link is here. ALL proceeds go to the Mac Aids Fund which is amazing and makes spending that money a little easier and makes me a little less guilty lol!

I love to do these make up posts so if you'd want to see more let me know and what looks!

Amazon Luxury Beauty

As I mentioned in my What I Got For Christmas post I got the Amazon Luxury Beauty Box as part of a gift. My gift was over £40 and I recieved this as Amazon has this on as a promotional gift at the time!

It includes some cool sample and travel sized products from brands I haven't heard about and some I have and have been meaning to check out!

It's a cool idea and I thought I'd let you know about the box, what I recieved and what I think of the products I have used!

Firstly, in the box, there are two Caudalie samples. These include a overnight recovery oil and an anti-wrinkle eye and lip cream! To be honest I haven't used the anti-wrinkle cream as it's not something I would usually reach for. On the other hand the overnight recovery oil is rather good! I have used a couple drops on my face where my dryer skin is and then put my usual moisturiser on before bed and I've noticed my face feeling noticeably less dry the next day.

Emma Bridgewater Live Well Look Well Tea & Oranges Hand Cream. This smells just as you would expect but is a fresh and not too overpowering smell. It's, to me, a standard hand cream and I can't fault it but I will definitely reach for my Soap & Glory Hand Food over this. (It's smells so good)

Jessica Phenomen Oil. This is an intensive moisturiser and recommends being used on the body. (ie. around nails, elbows, feet, knees) Basically where necessary. As it's winter I've been mixing a few drops with my body moisturiser and noticing a big difference! If I've a dryer patch somewhere (I tend to have very dry skin) I'll apply it directly. With people who have come into contact with me complimenting my soft skin! (Yes!)

Radial Stemcall Super-food Cleanser. This is a 2-in-1 cleanser and mask which is a good product for me right now! It's again for dehydrated skin (yay) with stem cells, rose hip and vitamin e. Ok, honestly, I was kinda sceptical about the stem cells part and to be honest I still am but as a cleanser this is a good product. It works like your usual hot cloth cleanser. I put it on my face, massaged it in and rinsed with a muslin cloth! For the mask you apply a think layer leave it on for 15 mins then rinse! It's a good product and I was happy as my skin felt soft and clean.

Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream. This is to soothe, brighten and lift. I applied this first in the evening and didn't notice a large difference but with being back to work this week and applying it to my sleep deprived eyes in the morning I have noticed a slight difference! My eyes appear less puffier quicker and brighter. I still need to get that brightening under eye concealer out though!

MeruMaya Intergrative Effective Skincare Everything Everywhere Beauty Oil. Well that's a mouthful! This improves moisture, line, elasticity and is soothing and smoothing. Ok, that's a big ask from a oil. One of it's main focus is anti-ageing but it also has directions for use on the face, body, scalp, hair, cuticles, lashes and brows so it really does sound like an everything and everywhere oil! I have again only tried this on my face mixed with my moisturiser but I am impressed by it again keeping my skin soft and bright! I will be interested to use this on my scalp/hair though..

Rituals Miracle Scrub. This is a softening hand scrub and I have to admit I really like this! I rub it on my dry hands and then rinse. I have to admit I really like this. It keeps my winter hands really soft and paired with my Hand Food it's perfect for this time of year.

Delarom Paris Acquaconfort Cream. This is a natural hydrating moisturiser. I used this on my dry skin and it was really light and worked well with my skin!

If you use any of these products or have done in the past please let me know what you think of them!

Top 5's of 2015!

Ok, so I'm a bit late to the game here as it's like a week into 2016 BUT I really wanted to do my Top 5's of 2015. It's been a cool year and here's some of my favourite things!

Beauty & Make Up:
1. Soar lip liner (Mac). This guy is my forever faithful. It's my go to for every look!
2.Twig Lipstick (Mac). Goes perfectly with Soar and is always a perfect everyday shade for me and I wear it out all the time. I've my last one down to the bottom and I need a new one asap - absolutely one of my favourite lipsticks ever!!
3. Nivea Mens Aftershave Balm in Sensitive. <3 Best primer and never breaks the bank - what more could you want?!
4. Primark Eyelashes. They've such a variety but intense and sultry are my favs!
5. Lightscapade (Mac). This is one of my favourite highlighters as it works for me in winter when I've paler skin and in summer for a casual highlight. When I'm tanner and want that disco ball feel I love I grab my Soft & Gentle!

This is definitely one of my favourite things they've ever released! Yes. (Also they just released 3 covers.. You gotta check them out too!)
3. Worlds Remixed. My love for Porter Robinson goes unmatched. His Worlds album was 100% my favourite album of 2014 (and basically most of 2015 too as I listened to it over 700 times on spotify this year?!) but this remixed album gives Worlds a revamp and is a really fun listen!
4. Little Machines. Lights is one of those artists I just love. Anything she releases is amazing and this album is the same. It's a great listen from start to finish and the bonus songs are some of my favourite she's ever released.
5. Happy People. Peace's first album was one of my favourite albums ever but this one tops it! I couldn't get enough of it and I can confirm live it might just be even better!!
6. Every Open Eye. If you thought CHVRCHES first album was good this one is amazing. I've just been listening to it from back to front since it was released!
7. Bieber's new album has to be mentioned too.. So many good songs!

Films:
1. Whiplash

4. Favourite festive food?
I get overly excited for stuffing, lol. It's so good and my daddy goes all out for Christmas!

7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
I'm working this year 9-5 but I'll do what I usually do every year which is shower & pamper myself a little. Then me and my sister usually get into our matching pjs, I got hers as a present this year - hope I didn't spoil the surprise lol. Then we usually watch a Christmas film which if I get my way will be Home Alone or Love Actually.. Accompanied by a Baileys hot choc with whipped cream and marshmallows. <3

8. What tops your tree?
On both trees we have white stars which have iridescent glitter on them - so cute!

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
I thought about this and I never really asked for anything crazy so I usually got what I asked for!

10. What's the best part about Christmas for you?
all my friends being home, boxing night when we all get glam and go out, hanging with my family, all my amazing presents and ALL THE FOOD.

Let me know some of your traditions and best presents!!
