Very Late - March Favourites!

So. It's been a while.

To be honest I kinda didn't know what I wanted to be posting for a while and took a short break until I really got the urge to start posting again and more regularly! I had a lot going on and just needed a little me time..

But that's done now and I'm ready to get back into the swing of things and what better way than to do a favourites post!! An extremely late one if I'm honest but better late than never, yeah?

Anyway, here's my favourites for March 2016!

1. L'Oreal Paris Infallible 24hr Foundation. This is one of my favourite drug store foundations if not my favourite! I use so many different foundations but this one is great for a full day of makeup ie. work where i'm out from about 9am to 6pm, as it doesn't move or dry out my skin too much which can be a big problem for me. I've been loving this for it's coverage also, it covers all my redness and dark circles (that being said I still place a little concealer under my eyes.. Staying up late to watch 'one more episode' before an early morning eyes need a little more tlc!)

2. Dior Airflash Foundation. This is a spray on foundation. To be honest I wasn't one hundred percent sure how I was going to feel about this but after seeing it pop up everywhere on YouTube tutorials and seeing some of my absolute favourite people use it (Jeffree Star, Nikkie Tutorials and Patrick Star) I knew I needed to try this out. As it's on the more expensive side I only use this if I'm going out or have something on where I've a full face of makeup on and not in my daily makeup routine. When talking to the staff at the Dior counter I picked it up at she suggested wearing it as a top coat of foundation over another for a flawless finish to save the product and make it last longer. I use it on top of my Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation Stick as that's my number one foundation at the moment and I'm absolutely in love with the finish it gives me. I find it leaves a more matte finish to my MF foundation as I find it can also be slightly oily on me so this balances out for a flawless look all night! I'm in love.

3. Neutrogena Visibly Clear Oil Free Moisturiser. I have definitely found this is helping to stop my skin getting clogged up and stopping me getting breakouts. I have really dry skin on my eyes (around my eyes I suffer from ezcema) and cheeks but I'm oiler on my t-zone and around my chin area. I struggled to find a moisturiser which kept my skin from drying out during the day but also stopped my pores from clogging up in my oiler areas. This works perfect for me and it's really light weight! It keeps me moisturised all day and I even love the smell when applying it.

4. Boots Botanics Rosewater Toner. I'm actually really seeing results from this and I'm so surprised for such a small price tag! I had darker patches around my chin from past blemishes and I can really see them fading. I also noticed the texture on the tops of my cheeks fading too! I'm trying so hard to get the texture of my skin away so if anyone has any tips please send them my way!

5. Morphe 35T Palette. I love the colours in this palette. They're warm taupe, brown and shimmer shades. It's so gorgeous and I definitely think this palette is under appreciated. I'm serious, for such a small price tag I'm surprised more people don't have this as a makeup collection staple! Also, I just purchased the 35K palette so expect posts on that soon!

6. BaByliss Pro Curling Wand. I find this so easy and so great to use to create tight curls or loose waves! For really tight curls which last me days I curl each piece then pin it up and when my whole head is cool I take it down or leave it over night. For slightly looser curls I just curl the hair, spray with hairspray and let it cool and then run my fingers through it to separate the curls! For loose waves I do the same as the second method and when it's cool I brush it through for gorgeous beachy-summer vibes hair! And for just less than £20 this curling wand is a steal! It also has multiple heat settings so if like me you wear extensions or don't want to damage your own hair the lowest setting is perfect to still get great curls!

In terms of other favourites in March I was obsessed with Tattoo Fixers! I never got to watch a full episode as I just saw bits here and there but I finally watched every episode. It's a great show and despite the backlash that was online I really enjoyed it.. and Jay and Sketch. They're both so beautiful! lol

I also started a new thing called Music Fridays so on the last Friday of the month I'll post my playlist for that month which will be an eclectic mix of all my favourite tunes from the previous month! March's is up on the blog so check it out HERE!

That's everythinig for March and expect more posts and fun things soon!!

February Favourites!

It's that time again. I honestly feel like I blinked and February was over!? I'm also so surprised that its already nearly a week into March. Where is 2016 going?!

February was such a fun month for me, I had time off work and spent a lot of time on here! That being said.. I haven't blogged in a week!! I know, I'm sorry. I need to set up certain days to blog to be more consistent as I went from 3 posts in a week to none! But, I'm back and I recently got my hands on a lot of good products to let you know about I'm just trying them out first!

So, onto my favourites for last month..

I've been loving liquid lipsticks throughout February. I have also been trying to include more glossy/satin lips but I always come back to these! Twig Satin Lipstick by Mac and the Mac
Lip Pencil in Soar was my go to lip for nearly a year but recently I've been reaching for this Jeffree Star Liquid Lipstick in Androgyny everyday for every look! Along with that I have been using my Stila Liquid Lipstick in Caramello a lot more. Originally I found this shade a little too light for me to wear as a nude lip, it felt a little foundation lips to be honest and we ALL know that isn't a good look! Instead I've been wearing a nice lip liner and using this liquid lip on the centre of my lips as a highlight or all over is perfect! For foundation my go to has been the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation Stick. This is perfect for a night out or just anytime I want full coverage. This makes my skin flawless and is easy to apply with a beauty blender. It can get oily on my skin and slide around if I don't wear powder and a good primer and I have dry skin. I take these steps daily though so this keeps mine in place. For a cheaper foundation and one I've been reaching for daily is my L'oreal Infallible 24Hr Foundation. This has great coverage and doesn't feel like I'm wearing makeup at all! I would say its medium coverage but with an extra pump it easily could be built to a full coverage. I wear this daily and keep getting compliments on it. It's a great foundation and is definitely my favourite drug store foundation. Another favourite is my Dolly Wink Eyeliner! The packaging is super cute which helped entice me to buy it. It then quickly became my favourite from the first use. The tip on this is super flexible and gives me the perfect flick and we all know I love my eyeliner. It's also a very black eyeliner and doesn't budge on nights out which is perfect for me!

I've been obsessing with my Gwen Stefani x Urban Decay Blush Palette this month!! To be honest I was never too keen on blush. It kinda scared me! I thought it made me look too caked. I bought this on a whim as I loved the eyeshadow palette and when watching youtube tutorials I seen all my favourite beauty vloggers wearing blush and I kinda thought I was missing out. Boy, was I missing out!! This blush palette was the best buy as I now have 6 new shades of blush with big pans so they'll last a long time they also are so multi-purposeful! There's shades I can use as a subtle contour, highlight, brow bone highlight, inner-corner highlight on my eye and as eyeshadows! These colours are so warm, bright and gorgeous! I love the formula too. It's definitely been a great buy.

I also have been obsessed with lashes the last while. I always wore lashes but now it's become more of a daily thing. My natural lashes are very straight and short so just wearing mascara on it's own doesn't really work for me. I searched online and came across these lashes. They look natural and cross which is a style I really like! There was 10 pairs for just over £2 including delivery. They were an absolute steal and I love them I'll definitely be repurchasing soon! I just use my Duo lash glue to apply these.

Onto 'other' favourites from the month..

Music-wise this month I've had two albums on repeat. The first is Don't You by a band called Wet. This was released at the end of Jan and I've loved it throughout Feb. I came across this band as they were in my Discover Weekly Playlist on Spotify and I've been in love since. It's a female fronted band which are in the synth-pop kind of genre with a hint of more soulful sounds. This record is a perfect break up album and lyrically I adore it. Some of my favourite songs are It's All In Vain, Deadwater and You're The Best but honestly I have listened to this album from front to back multiple times. It's perfect.

The second album I'm including even though it only came out at the very end of Feb I feel it still might be my most listened to album. It's I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It from The 1975. I've been listening to the handful of songs released all month and my pre-order of the album arrived on my door step on release day. Perfect! The vinyl itself is gorgeous and I love the album. It has all my favourite things from previous songs and more. I love all the singles released but on this album my heart lies in She's American. This. Song. Ever since I gave the album the first listen this song stuck out! There's a slow build them BAM! It hits with the most perfect sounding guitar riff and full on 80's synth in the background. I love it every time I hear it. This song is so cinematic and I feel like it would be on a John Hughes brat pack film soundtrack. I can't speak any higher of this song. It's timeless and amazing, just like the rest of the album!

I watched only a handful of films this month in comparison to my usual long list. One that stuck out for me was definitely Deadpool! This film was everything I wanted from it. Deadpool's sarcasm was perfect and the amount of violence etc was perfect. They had all the traits a great comic book film should have and kept it light and hilariously funny. I laughed out loud so much! I loved it.
An oldie but a goodie I watched was Dazed and Confused. I've seen this film time and time again and I still love it. The pace of this film is great and it's a perfect coming of age film. I love how it documents one day but the story line feels like a lot happens and nothing is dragged out or unnecessary. I always wanted my teens to be like this and it has that nostalgic feel now. It also rekindles my love for the 70's. I love the soundtrack to this movie, the fashion and just everything about it. I definitely recommend this to everyone. It's a fun film and a great watch!!

That concludes my favourites for this month, I hope you enjoyed it and let me know what some of your favourites are or what you'd like me to check out! Maybe film recommendations? Those would be greatly appreciated!!

New Make Up Haul

Okay, so to be honest, the last seven days I have kinda splurged a bit on make up.. I can't help it, it's my guilty pleasure. Once I see a product I want it goes on my list and one by one I check them off! Also sending me into Debenhams beauty hall can be a dangerous mission for my poor bank card, oops!

So I thought I'd update you on what I got and some first impressions for the products I have used already!

1. Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Blush Palette for £35 I think this is a great product. I wasn't sure at first but it's great for my day to day make up and the pinker shades are amazing for a night time look! There is a shade which could be used as contour and possibly 2 or 3 highlight and blush shades. I have to admit I love when a product has more than one use and this can contour, highlight and add blush to my face daily - perfect!

2. Mac Lip Pencil in Nightmoth. I got this to match my Ariana Grande x Mac Viva Glam Lipstick and it's a perfect colour. It's a great dark vampy red/purple. I wore at at the weekend and it lasted all night without needing to be topped up even though it's a very dark colour and I was drinking (all night)!

3. Make Up Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation. I haven't tried this yet but these look amazing. I also hear Nikkie Tutorials talking about them a lot so they must be GOOD. (She's my makeup guru)

4. Mac Lipstick in Diva (Matte). This is the most gorgeous blue toned red. I'm obsessed! I can't believe I never owned this sooner, it's my absolute favourite! I seen this on a friend and had to have it and  I wore it a few times recently and it's amazing. (It's a Mac Lipstick so my hopes are always high!)

5. Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner. This is made in Japan and really cute. I love everything about it - the packaging, the product and where it's made! It's also produced by Tsubasa Masiwaka a Japanese model.

6. EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation. This foundation is so good. I would say it's medium to full coverage. It lasts well on my dry skin without moving or leaving me patchy after a while which is great and for the price I really cannot fault it!

7. Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lip Cream in Honey Bear. These lip sticks have the most gorgeous gold packaging and they are so hydrating which is perfect for this time of year! It would be a sheer lipstick which is also extremely pigmented, amazing. I want more of these and the melted lipsticks! Too Faced can do no wrong in my eyes.

So there's my little haul, I love all these products and I'm excited to use them all a few times! If there's anything else you think I should have picked up let me know!

MOTD/FOTD December 1st - Blogmas Day Two!

Hi guys!

Today I thought I would post my FOTD for December 1st! It was a casual make up kinda day as I was doing a few things and then working in the evening!

This is my basic 'everyday' look so you can get an idea of what I usually wear.

- - - - -

Here's a photo which includes all the products I used and I'll go into more detail on them all below!

This looks like a lot but I always say it takes a lot of make up to look 'natural'.

Face products & links: (Top picture)

L'Oreal Nude Magique Blur Cream, Mac Powder Blush in Harmony, Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and GentleNo7 Instant Illusions Airbrush Away Primer, Mac Prep + Prime Fix +, Rimmel London Lasting Finish Foundation, Benefit High Beam Highlighter, Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water.

(Bottom picutre)

Face tutorial:
I firstly put my No7 primer on my forehead and cheeks, followed by my L'oreal primer on my nose and general chin area then under my eyes to blur my pores and where I need the best coverage/way to stop my make up from moving as they are problem areas. I use my Rimmel foundation all over my face and apply it with a damp beauty blender (I spray it with my fix + as this is amazing for applying my makeup evenly and flawlessly, and it also helps to blend as I have dry skin.)

I then apply my Mac powder blush as contour as this is a 'cool' brown and really gives me a good shadow colour and also warms up my forehead/face colour. I then apply a few dabs of high beam to my forehead, cheek bones, bridge of my nose and a small amount to my chin and blend again with a damp beauty blender. I then apply a small sweep of Mac's soft and gentle on my cheeks and set the rest of my face with the Rimmel loose powder and under my eyes with the L'Oreal pressed powder. I really adore both of these products for a flawless finish!

As a final step I spray the smashbox primer all over my face like a setting spray as I feels it helps keep my makeup in place and also takes away any caked look I can get from setting my make up with a powder!

Eye/Lip Tutorial: I start with my eyebrows after my face is finished. I apply my Illamasqua brow gel with an angled brush and try to give the front an 'ombre' effect. I then apply my winged eyeliner using my NYX eye marker but I do tend to change between that and my Soap and Glory Supercat Eyeliner Pen! I then move onto my lips and prep them by using my lip scrub followed by my lip balm. I let this settle into my lips and then apply my mascara. I love this Maybelline one but I have repurchased it in the very black but not waterproof as I found it VERY hard to remove even with eye make up remover. After applying a few coats of this (I prefer thicker mascara) I move onto my lips! I line them with my Mac lip pencil in Soar and then fill them in with Twig. My lipstick is basically done as I wear this ALL the time and it's one of my favourite everyday Mac lipsticks along with Mehr.

Here's a side angled picture of my face so you can see the contour and detail closer of my make up!

Please ask me anything about any of these products and also tell me your favourite everyday products I want to try more!!

Thank you!
